Confession: I’m not a shoe person. At least, I didn’t think I was. But something about this season’s shoes has got me like…SHOES. LET’S GET SOME SHOES (side note: It’s almost midnight and I’m cackling as I watch this).
After frequently wearing a couple pairs of shoes into the ground, I’m trying to vary my shoe collection a bit. I want to change it up; wear different shoes each day depending on my outfit. I didn’t realize how much of an effect shoes can have on a wardrobe! I guess it’s not just about clothes. So, I’m focusing on getting more spring/summer shoes into my closet. I figured y’all might be in a similar position, so I put together a list of my favorites. Let me know if you have any of these shoes, or if you have any recommendations for me!
Casual is the name of the game, especially as the weather gets warmer. Be sure to grab a pair of shoes you can slip on with a pair of jeans or shorts. I’m partial to these Dr. Scholl’s slip-on sneakers in “bone suede.” TBH, Dr. Scholl’s isn’t typically a brand I go for, but these are unbelievably comfortable. And they look awesome with jeans + a striped tee!
I’ll admit, I hated the whole loafers/mules look when I first started seeing it. I thought those styles of shoes looked like granny styles or something. Hideous. But then I saw girls wearing them..and looking really cute (can I blame Instagram for peer pressuring me?). PS – those Steve Maddens are AMAZING Gucci dupes (you’ll literally save like $900).
I love sandals. I love espadrilles (even though I’m not sure if I’m saying the word correctly LOL…). Gimme ALL of them. I usually go for lower-heeled shoes since I’m 5’7 and don’t like to tower over the masses. These Vince Camuto Retana sandals have about a 1.5 inch heel and lace up + have an inside zipper. Pro tip: Amazon has TONS of good shoe options. And 9 times out of 10, they’ll have your size!
What styles of shoes are you wearing this spring/summer? Let me know in the comments section!
